Barntshirt
A store where a child's own drawing becomes a t-shirt. Custom Shopify theme plus a tool that removes the background from uploaded images.
The brief
The product is easy to understand but hard to sell with a stock theme: the customer uploads a drawing or a photo, sees it on a shirt and needs to trust that the print will come out well. The store needed a theme that is playful without being busy, and a way to get clean artwork out of phone photos taken against the fridge door.
How it was built
The theme is built from scratch in Liquid with sections for how it works, gift categories and clear paths to Create your t-shirt. Background removal is a separate Next.js app: the image goes to an internal API route that calls Photoroom server-side, so the API key never reaches the browser, and the customer gets back a transparent PNG to review and download.

Where it stands
The store is live at barntshirt.se. The background tool runs as a standalone service and is prepared to be wired straight into the Shopify flow.
